A “My Vaccine Pass” is not required by guests, but in line with Ministry of Health guidelines, any guest with flu-like symptoms, or awaiting results of a Covid test, should not travel to the Lodge.
Dogs may be permitted, but only with the express “prior” permission from the Lodge Host or Incorporation office. Please do not bring dogs onto the property and request permission on arrival, as refusal causes embarrassment.
All dogs must be registered and vaccinated and certificates presented. If you are travelling through the Fiordland National Park (the “National Park” includes Lake Hauroko itself) you must obtain the appropriate Dog Permits from the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre (DOC) in Te Anau.
Immediately on arrival – visitors must produce their vaccination and registration certificates to the Lodge Host. The Lodge Host can then issue a hunting permit for the property. If they are not produced, then the dogs will be sent back out with the transport operator.
No dogs are permitted to stay in the Lodge itself, or on Waitutu land. Dogs must be housed across the river, in the kennels at the DOC hut.

How to Get There
You can travel down the Wairaurahiri River in one of the jet boats which make the trip regularly, walk the Bluecliffs Beach/south coast track, or fly in by helicopter.
Please Note: Jetboats land at the steps below the Lodge. During low river-flows, the landing will be further away from the Lodge (up to 200 metres), and guests need to be able to negotiate steps (25) and/or walk along an uneven-terrain bush track. If it is difficult for you to carry your luggage from the lower landing, you can book for your luggage to be transported from the boat to the Lodge. If you are unable to negotiate steps or uneven-terrain, travel by helicopter may be more suitable, as you would land on the front-lawn at the Lodge.
See below for booking details.
